Get To Know The Coast Guard Auxiliary!
What is the Coast Guard Auxiliary?
The Coast Guard Auxiliary is 35,000 Men and Women Standing Ready for the call.
We are Semper Paratas (Always Ready)
As an all volunteer uniformed component of the United States Coast Guard, we are a multi mission non-military unit.
Though we do not bare arms, we are no less proud to serve our country in the mission that has been bestowed upon us. In 1939 Congress passed legislation to form what we now know as the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. An all volunteer civilian component, to help promote boating safety and to facilitate the operations of the United States Coast Guard. Our missions have expanded over the years, but our core mission remains the same, Public Boating Safety. Through Public Education, Safe Boating Courses, and Vessel Safety Checks, we strive to make America’s waterways safe. “Saving Life’s through knowledge.”  It is the duty of every Coast Guard Auxiliarist to promote Safe Boating practices and to share information that will help keep our environment and waterways clean.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary also works side by side with some of the finest men and women of the United States Coast Guard. You will find Auxiliarist most anywhere. Auxiliarist work at your local Coast Guard Station. They can also be found on Coast Guard Cutters, Buoy Tenders, UTB’s or at Marine Safety Units, Sectors,REC’s, Air Stations, and Overseas aboard U.S. Navy Ships.
In times of National Emergency or Natural Disasters the Coast Guard Auxiliary is there. We are a Coast Guard Force doubler and can be there when called.
 We are Semper Paratus.
The Men and Women of the the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary are all volunteers and do not get paid.  They donate their time with Honor, Duty and Respect to their Country and to the United States Coast Guard.
